Induction loop detctors are common method of sensing the presence of vehicles for traffic light systems, barrier safety and for car counting applications.

When you approach a traffic signal or car park barrier, you may notice a rectangular scar where the road surface has been cut and then re-sealed. This is the sensor loop. The loop consists of several turns or wire buried in the roadway, and connected to an electronic circuit which can detect a car passing over it. Normally the loop is about 1m x 1.5m in size.

Sheriff Technologies Ltd offers a nationwide service for installation of induction loops cutting and their associated control cabinets.

The position of the induction loops on entry and exit lanes can be critical the accuracy of a counting system. Our counting systems use advanced logic and smart loop configurations to significantly improve count accuracy.

We have consulted on or provided loop installation on a wide range of vehicle counting applications including shopping centres, airports and hospitals.
