Sheriff Technologies Ltd is now the sole supplier for Microtima road safety electronics.

The Series 5 Timer is the leading programmable controller for road traffic applications. It is programmed by creating a schedule datafile, on its own easy to use PC-based software, which is then uploaded to the timer by wireless Bluetooth connection on a handheld PDA.

It has proven hugely popular with local authorities as its purpose design augments functionality you need without adding costs for features you don’t.

Bluetooth programming with the Series 5 is the quickest, safest and most cost effective method of programming a variety of road safety electronics including school signals, temporary speed limit lights and vehicle activated signs.

Microtima Ltd (1984 to 2010)

In 1984, Microtima Ltd created one of the first annually programmable timers and used it exclusively in school crossing patrol signals. In 2010 when Microtima Ltd ceased trading, Sheriff Technologies Ltd acquired the intellectual property behind the popular Bluetooth Series 5 Timer for school patrol signals. With the product still a necessity for child road safety, the Microtima Series 5 timer and it's variants now form part of the Sheriff Technologies Safer Routes to School product range.

Warranty & Third Party Equipment

Series 5 Timers are sold with a 1 year return-to-base warranty as standard and can be used in a wide range of applications. However, due to the unknowns associated with installing timers in third party equipment, we CANNOT warranty Series 5 Timers used in flashing signal products NOT sold by Sheriff Technologies Ltd, or where agreed in advance.
